Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel was born in 1991 in Nicosia, Northern Cyprus. He graduated from Turkish Maarif College in 2009. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science at the University of Manchester in 2013. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued a master's degree in Immunology at Imperial College London. For his doctoral studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel joined Ege University in Izmir, where he completed his doctoral education in the field of microbiology in 2018.

In 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel joined Near East University as a researcher and academician. In 2021, he was appointed as an assistant professor at Near East University. He earned his doctoral title in 2022 and was appointed to the position of a doctor. In the same year, he became a member of the board of directors of DESAM Research Institute at Near East University, where he had been a researcher. In August 2023, he was appointed as the Director of DESAM Research Institute and continues to hold this position. Additionally, since November 2022, he has been serving as a board member of the TMC-TRNC Platform.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel has numerous articles published in internationally indexed journals and has presented at conferences and symposiums. He has received the Near East University Publication Awards in 2020 and 2021, the first prize for oral presentation at the 6th Erciyes Medical Genetics Congress in 2021, and a Poster Award at the 7th KLIMUD National Clinical Microbiology Congress in 2023.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cenk Serhan Özverel is married and a father of one child.
