
Dila Özyılkan was born in 1996 in Nicosia. She completed her undergraduate education at the Faculty of Dentistry, Near East University, where she acquired a strong foundation in both theoretical and clinical aspects of dentistry. Following her graduation, she pursued an academic career and began her PhD training in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Near East University in 2019.
During her doctoral studies, she conducted research primarily focused on early childhood caries and the relationship between systemic diseases and oral health. In 2023, she successfully completed her PhD thesis entitled “The Impact of Early Childhood Caries in Children Diagnosed with Anemia on Quality of Life” and was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
In addition to her academic research, Dr. Özyılkan has been actively involved in undergraduate dental education, contributing to both theoretical and clinical training, particularly in the development of students’ clinical competencies. Her clinical practice focuses on behavior guidance in pediatric patients, preventive dentistry approaches, and minimally invasive treatment methods.
Since 2024, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Near East University, continuing her academic and clinical work. Her primary research interests include systemic diseases, early childhood caries, and preventive dental treatments.
