Dr. Ismet Ersalıcı was born in 1998 in Kyrenia, Cyprus. He completed his primary education
at Girne American Primary School and his secondary and high school education at 19 May
Turkish Maarif College, graduating with distinction.
He received his DDS degree with honors from the Faculty of Dentistry at Near East
University in 2021 and began his Ph.D. studies in Orthodontics at the same institution in
the same year.
During his undergraduate years, he was actively involved in various student and
international dental organizations. In 2018, he started serving as the Exchange Officer of
the Cyprus Dental Students’ Association (CyDSA) and held the position of President
between 2019 and 2021. Since September 2021, he has been acting as the Advisory
Lecturer of the same association. Within the International Association of Dental
Students (IADS), he was elected by majority vote as Exchange Officer (2019–2020) and
later as Regional Director for the Middle East (2020–2021).
In May 2021, Dr. Ersalıcı received the Second Place Award at the Dentsply Global Clinical
Case Contest, and in 2022, he was awarded Second Place in the Oral Presentation Award
Session at the Congress of the Turkish Society of Oral Diagnosis and Maxillofacial
Radiology held in Selçuk, İzmir.
In 2023, he joined the CYENS Centre of Excellence, an EU-funded research center, as a
research fellow for six weeks and continues to collaborate as a visiting researcher. In 2024,
he was elected to the Executive Board of the Cyprus Turkish Dental Association, where
he still serves.
In May 2025, he successfully defended his Ph.D. thesis titled “Comparison of the Accuracy
of Linear Measurements Performed on Models Derived from Cone-Beam Computed
Tomography” and was awarded the title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). In September
2025, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor by the Academic Promotion and
Appointment Committee of Near East University.
Dr. Ersalıcı has published numerous scientific papers in national and international indexed
journals and has presented at various congresses. He currently serves as a faculty member
at the Department of Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, Near East University,
continuing his academic and research activities in the fields of orthodontics, digital
imaging, and artificial intelligence applications in dentistry.
