Different aspects of women’s health were discussed at the “Women’s Day Panel” organized by Near East University in Gönyeli Alayköy Municipality

Information meetings organized by Near East University for women continue. Women’s health from different aspects was discussed in the “Women’s Day Panel” organized at the Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality in cooperation with the Faculty of Dentistry and the Faculty of Health Sciences of Near East University.

At the information meeting held open to the public, an in-depth perspective was presented on issues such as women’s health and the role of women in social policy, with the aim of contributing to a physically, mentally, emotionally and socially healthy life and raising awareness in society. The panel also discussed issues such as women’s access to health services, increasing health awareness and developing policies to solve health problems. The panel moderated by Near East University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Endodontics lecturer Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilan Kırmızı and ended with a question-answer session.

The panel attracted great interest from women; Near East University Faculty of Health Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Adile Öniz Özgören, Near East University Center of Excellence Board Member, NERITA President Prof. Dr. Murat Özgören, Near East University Quality and Accreditation Coordinator and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Sevcan Kurtulmuş Yılmaz and many academics attended the panel. The participants spoke on the following issues; Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dentistry Lecturer Dt. Ayşegül Şahin “The Role of Hormones in Women’s Oral Health”; Assist. Prof. Dr. Betül Mammadov “Women’s Health Problems According to Life Periods”; Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Assist. Prof. Dr. Taygun Dayı “Healthy Nutrition Characteristics According to Life Periods”; Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Assist. Prof. Dr. Tuba Yerlikaya “The Effect of Movement on Women’s Health” and Faculty of Health Sciences Research Assistant Barış Başel made a presentation titled “Social Policy and Women”. In the presentations, oral care, nutrition and physical activity recommendations were made for women of different age groups.
Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilan Kırmızı: “It is our responsibility to give due importance to women’s health and welfare.”
Making the opening speech of the panel, Near East University Faculty of Dentistry Department of Endodontics Faculty Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Dilan Kırmızı stated that women are the cornerstone of society and touched upon the importance of physical, mental, emotional and social collaborations to protect and improve women’s health. Emphasizing that not only physical health but also social policies shape women’s health and well-being, Assist. Prof. Dr. Kırmızı said, “It is the responsibility of all of us to give due importance to women’s health and welfare for a healthy and happy society. The information and ideas we receive today will help us fulfill this responsibility more effectively.”
