Intelligence and Strategy Faced Off in the Collegium Dentalis Chess Tournament

Organized within the scope of the Collegium Dentalis system by the Faculty of Dentistry at Near East University, the Chess Tournament concluded after a series of matches held throughout April and May. The tournament, which showcased both individual intelligence and team spirit, was marked by high student participation and strong academic support.

♟️ Preliminary Rounds: The Best Within Each Collegium

The first elimination round took place on April 17, 2025. Each collegium held internal matches among its own participants to determine the two players who would advance to the final round.
All students who participated in the preliminaries demonstrated strategy, patience, and composure throughout their matches:

Auris

Nova

Final Matches: The Best on the Same Board

The final matches were held on May 12, 2025, in the 1st Floor Foyer of the Faculty of Dentistry, where the top players representing each collegium competed head-to-head.
At the end of the final round, the total scores revealed a tie between Orion and Zenith, leading to a tiebreaker match to determine the champion.

In this decisive match between İsmail Çolak (Zenith) and Cem Bakkaloğlu (Orion), it was İsmail who emerged victorious after a display of intelligence, patience, and precision—securing the championship for Zenith.
